1. Agreement to Terms

By accessing and using the ferry booking service at mykines.fo (the "Service"), operated by Mykines sp/f ("Company," "we," "us," or "our"), you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, you may not use the Service.

2. Service Description

Mykines sp/f operates a ferry service between Sørvágur and Mykines in the Faroe Islands. Our Service allows you to:

  • View ferry schedules and availability
  • Book ferry tickets online
  • Manage existing bookings (view, modify, cancel)
  • Receive booking confirmations and tickets via email

3. Booking Process

3.1 Creating a Booking

To create a booking, you must provide accurate and complete information including:

  • Contact details (name, email, phone)
  • Passenger information for all travelers
  • Tour date and departure time selection
  • Payment information

3.2 Booking Confirmation

Once your payment is processed successfully, you will receive a booking confirmation email with a PDF ticket attached. This email serves as proof of your booking. You must present this ticket (printed or on a mobile device) when boarding.

3.3 Accuracy of Information

You are responsible for ensuring all information provided is accurate and complete. We are not liable for issues arising from incorrect passenger names, contact details, or travel dates.

4. Pricing and Payment

4.1 Ticket Prices

Ticket prices are displayed in Danish Kroner (DKK) and vary based on passenger type:

  • Adult (13+ years): Full price
  • Child (2-12 years): Discounted rate
  • Infant (0-1 years): Free (no seat)

All prices are subject to change without prior notice. The price shown at the time of booking is the final price you pay.

4.2 Payment Methods

We accept payments via QuickPay, which supports:

  • Credit/Debit cards (Visa, Mastercard, etc.)
  • MobilePay
  • Digital wallets (Apple Pay, Google Pay)

Payment is required at the time of booking. Bookings are only confirmed once payment is successfully processed.

4.3 Payment Security

All payment transactions are processed securely through QuickPay, a PCI DSS compliant payment gateway. We do not store your full credit card details on our servers.

5. Cancellations and Refunds

Please refer to our Refund Policy for detailed information on cancellations, refund eligibility, and timelines.

5.1 Customer-Initiated Cancellations

You may cancel your booking through the "Manage Booking" feature on our website. Refund eligibility depends on the timing of your cancellation (see Refund Policy).

5.2 Company-Initiated Cancellations

We reserve the right to cancel sailings due to weather conditions, technical issues, or other operational reasons. In such cases, you will receive a full refund automatically and a notification email.

6. Passenger Responsibilities

6.1 Arrival Time

Passengers must arrive at the departure point at least 15 minutes before the scheduled departure time. We are not liable for missed sailings due to late arrival.

6.2 Valid Ticket

You must present your booking confirmation (PDF ticket) when boarding. Tickets are valid only for the specified date, time, and passengers listed.

6.3 Conduct

Passengers must behave respectfully and comply with crew instructions. We reserve the right to refuse service or remove passengers who engage in disruptive, dangerous, or illegal behavior.

6.4 Minors

Children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult (18+) at all times.

7. Safety and Liability

7.1 Weather Conditions

Ferry operations are subject to weather and sea conditions. The captain has the sole authority to determine if conditions are safe for sailing. Sailings may be delayed or cancelled without prior notice for safety reasons.

7.2 Personal Belongings

Passengers are responsible for their personal belongings. We are not liable for lost, stolen, or damaged items.

7.3 Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Mykines sp/f shall not be liable for:

  • Delays or cancellations due to weather, technical issues, or force majeure
  • Indirect, incidental, or consequential damages (e.g., missed connections)
  • Losses exceeding the value of your ticket

8. Privacy and Data Protection

We are committed to protecting your privacy. Please review our Privacy Policy to understand how we collect, use, and protect your personal information.

9. Intellectual Property

All content on this website, including text, images, logos, and software, is the property of Mykines sp/f and protected by copyright laws. You may not reproduce, distribute, or use any content without our written permission.

10. Modifications to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last Updated" date. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

11. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Faroe Islands. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of the Faroe Islands.
